It seems like the world of the internet has taken everything by storm. Almost anyone from anywhere around the world can find and buy unique items with a click of a button. But has anyone ever stopped to wonder what happens to the small businesses or what kinds of things can be found if you shop local?
For the past several years, Alicia Devine and Lori Gosset, have been running their businesses out of their homes until they decided to combine their operations and talents and bring it to the community.
“I was tired of being called the craft lady,” said Devine. “I wanted to bring something more to the community.”
So Devine and Gosset put their heads together and “A Devine Design” and “Legit Chick Detail” came to life; a place where people can custom order anything and know that they are getting quality work.
Daily specials are offered including vinyl wraps for vehicles. A clean shop is available where you can pull in your vehicle and get the vinyl wrapping completed.
“I went to college to be able to properly do this for others,” Devine said.
The duo wants to be able to provide many services to the community that residents normally have to travel for. As the only detail and custom workshop in Wright, they offer clothing to be custom made and assorted crafts like wood burning.
“We want to get our name out there to be able to succeed,” Devine said.
The new shop is open Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with an invitation extended to everyone to visit during their open house Jan. 26, 5-9 p.m. The new business can be found in Latigo Hills Mall next to the post office. During the open house, enjoy a glass of wine while looking through the shop at all the amazing products and custom work the duo provides. Raffle prizes will be handed out and gift certificates are available.
“Part of us doing this is so we can also be able to run a self-sustainable business not only for us and our families, but for our community,” Gosset said.
